Jiu Jitsu vs Cancer 2 — A Community United Once Again
On February 16th, we came together once again for Jiu Jitsu vs Cancer 2, a full day dedicated to high‑level jiu jitsu, community spirit, and raising money for cancer charities. After the incredible success of our first event in 2023—where we raised over £6,000 for charities chosen by my sister – we knew we had to bring this event back stronger than ever. And thanks to all of you, it truly delivered.
World‑Class Mini Seminars
This year’s lineup brought together an exceptional group of instructors who gave their time, knowledge, and energy to support the cause. We were honoured to welcome back Jay Butler and Dan Strauss, both of whom taught at our first event and returned once again to help make this day special. Their sessions were packed, technical, and full of the kind of insight only years on the mats can produce.
Joining them were Max Bickerton and Greg Souders, adding even more depth and variety to the day. Each instructor brought their own flavour, perspective, and expertise, creating a full day of learning, rolling, and connection that everyone on the mats could feel.
More Than Just Jiu Jitsu
While the jiu jitsu was outstanding, the atmosphere was what truly made the day unforgettable. People from different gyms, backgrounds, and experience levels came together with one purpose: to support those affected by cancer and to honour the loved ones who inspire us to keep pushing this project forward. The positivity, generosity, and unity in the room reminded us why this event exists — and why it will continue to grow. What’s Next?
We’ve got more news coming soon, and we can’t wait to share what’s next for Jiu Jitsu vs Cancer. Whether you were with us at the first event, returned for the second, or are thinking about joining us in the future, we’re excited to welcome both old and new faces as this movement continues to build. To stay updated, please follow and share our page:
